A Note from Dr. Koch

Welcome! I am a supportive, collaborative therapist who strives to cultivate a warm and reassuring atmosphere that allows you to nurture your well-being. As a therapist, I strive to balance active engagement and deep listening. I want to support and collaborate with my clients, helping them to uncover strengths while working to create the change they seek.

I believe relationships give life meaning! One of my strengths as a therapist is guiding people toward improving their relationships. This includes relationships with people currently in your life and with people from your past whose memory may still impact your present-day functioning.

I specialize in the following areas: relationship counseling (with both individuals and romantic partners), mood disruption, trauma, alternative relationships (including multi-partner/poly), queer communities, sexual health, and sex therapy. I have trained and taught hundreds of therapists in my 20+ years as a psychologist, and I consult regularly with peers and mentors who share my specialties to keep my skills fresh. Please reach out to let me know if you’d like to meet and consider working together.

Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing.
— Irvin D. Yalom, "The Gift of Therapy"
